Introduction to Theatre- 3-hour workshop. Students learn the basic fundamentals of theatre arts, including acting fundamentals, movement for the stage, voice and action, character study and development.
Myths and Legends - 3-hour workshop. Students explore the myths and legends of ancient Greece and Rome, while learning how these icons inspired historical figures, dramatic literature, and art.
Dinosaurs or Dragons? - 3-hour workshop examining references to dragons and giant serpents in mythology, legends, and literature; comparisons to actual dinosaur fossils and paleontology.
Pirate Lore – 3-hour workshop. Students will learn basic history of the pirates of the seven seas, nautical terms and ocean navigation, basic oceanography, pirate crafts, ropes and knot tying, period props and costumes, a mock pirate battle, and more!
Shakespeare and the Stars - 3-hour workshop. Students learn about the basic history of astronomy and how geocentric beliefs evolved into heliocentric concepts during the Renaissance and Elizabethan periods though examination of astronomical references in the works of Shakespeare.
The Science of Shakespeare - 3-hour workshop. Students learn about the 10 major sciences found within the works of Shakespeare through exploring Shakespearean texts and Elizabethan history, while completing interactive activities. Astronomy, Botany, Chemistry, Entomology, Herbology, Horticulture, Meteorology, Physics, Psychology, Zoology.
Wild, Wild Westerns - 3-hour workshop. Students learn the basic history of the American West; the development of the western melodrama and its roots in 16th century Italian commedia dell arte; the transition from melodrama to musical play and the creation of the Broadway musical; stock characters; scene development; period props and costumes; and more.
Multi-Week Sessions: Can be tailored to any quarter or semester structure, weekly or twice weekly, totaling between 12 and 24 hours of instruction.
Introduction to Journalism - Students study news publications and articles to learn about the principles and ethics of journalism while preparing their own mini-publication from the ground up, including jobs and duties of the newsroom, story and photo assignments and editing, layout fundamentals, and publishing a finished product.
Advanced Theatre - Students further explore the theatre arts through more advanced activities and exercises, including script selection and character study, developing physical choices, and workshopping scenes with other students.
Process to Performance - Students learn various aspects of theatre arts and theatre production, while also learning to appreciate drama as literature and history. The series of class sessions culminates with a production and performance through which students will have an opportunity to participate in each aspect of theatrical production and presentation.

Locations: Classes can be offered at the location of your choice, or in our indoor theatre workshop, our outdoor forested "classroom," our riparian riverfront location, or any local park setting.
